The NGO Coalition of Liberia, representing over 25 civil society organizations in the forest and natural resource sector, has petitioned His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., to defer the endorsement and signing of Liberia’s Draft Carbon Market Policy.

The Coalition acknowledges the Government’s efforts on climate action but raises concerns about limited stakeholder consultation, particularly the insufficient inclusion of forest-dependent communities and civil society actors in the validation process.

The petition calls for a more inclusive, transparent, and nationwide validation process before any final decision is made.

Full details are available in the letter below for download.
